OK,
I know how to conduct an Official ITN On Court Assessment. Now what do I do?
Step 1: Register as an assessor
on the website, purchase an Official ITN On Court Assessment Kit and an amount
of credits.
Step 2: Inform all your
tennis players about the Official ITN On Court Assessment and that you will be conducting
Official ITN On Court Assessments for all your tennis players. Make sure they understand
that the ITN stands for International Tennis Number which has been developed
by the International Tennis Federation as a means to rate tennis players on a global
scale from 1 to 10. 1 being of professional standard and 10 being a player new
to the game.
Step 3: Inform all your
tennis players of the benefits they will receive by completing the assessment
and having their results entered on to the official website as described above.
Step 4: Conduct the assessments.
Make sure that the assessment score sheets are completed correctly and that
the tennis player details are recorded in a clear and readable format. Also ensure that the tennis player completes the Consent Form. If the player is under 18 a parent or guardian must complete the player consent form on the tennis players behalf.
Step 5: Enter all assessment results to this website.
Step 6: After you have completed
entering all your player's assessment results you should print out all your
players confirmation receipts and return them to the players. Each player's
confirmation receipt contains the following information.
Player's name.
Player Profile Number.
Player Password.
Assessment score.
The player's ITN rating.
Step 7: After the player
receives their confirmation receipt from you they can log in to this website
and start using all of the tools to evaluate their Official ITN On Court Assessment
score free of charge.
How
can I integrate the assessment into my existing tennis coaching programs?
The ITN On Court Assessment
has been specifically designed to enable tennis coaches to easily integrate the system
into their existing tennis coaching programs. The assessment usually takes less than
10 minutes to conduct per player and is ideal for group sessions where you can
rotate students through the assessment. Alternatively you may wish to conduct
individual assessments. In both instances players may require additional lessons
to prepare prior to being assessed.
How
often should I assess tennis players?
We
recommend that all tennis players are assessed on a quarterly basis. Ideally at the end of
each terms coaching program. However, players can be assessed more often if
they wish.

I have to live in a certain country to use this website?

I have conducted ITN clinics and have graded over 200 people at all levels at clubs throughout Queensland.
The ITN is an ITF, (International Tennis Federation) initiative and is currently being implemented throughout the world. It is an on-court objective assessment that will enable all players worldwide to be linked through one rating system.
I have found this assessment to be of great benefit to clubs and coaches by enabling them to create competitive matches by putting people of the same standard against each other.
The most important benefit of the grading system that I’ve witnessed is that it creates a desire in people to play the game more.
95% of the people I’ve graded have said to me they think they can do better next time they take the test.
For example, say they have an ITN rating of 6 (1 being professional level and 10 being basic beginner level). When I put their ITN rating on the international website at oncourtassessment.com this person can then go and see how they rate by checking how other people at their club have rated.
This is when it creates healthy competition, when they see someone they think they can beat with an ITN rating of 5. This makes them want to practice more and do the test again to try and better their rating.
The On Court Assessment can be taken any amount of times. I have seen the clubs in Australia benefit from this new rating system by getting more kids and people interested in tennis and getting them more active physically.
I believe it can be of the same benefit to clubs throughout every country worldwide.Sincerely
